Abstract

Identity has become the new perimeter. As organizations modernize into hybrid and multi-cloud environments, identity providers (IdPs) such as Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Microsoft Entra ID now serve as the control plane for authentication, authorization, and access across applications, endpoints, and infrastructure. When identity services are compromised, everything downstream collapses, access to workloads, recovery systems, and even backup credentials becomes unreachable. Cyber resilience therefore begins not with data, but with identity.
