Abstract

Three years ago, a developer using AI to write code felt novel. In 2026 it is the default. 90% of technology professionals now use AI at work, agentic tools are moving from pilots into production, and the volume of code entering organizations is rising faster than at any point in the history of software. The capacity to review that code hasn't kept up, and technical debt is rising as a result.
