Abstract

Thousands of organizations worldwide are likely accidentally hiring North Korean fake employees as part of a large-scale, nation-state operation. Following KnowBe4's detection of a fake employee, many companies have reported similar incursions. This report explores the industrial nature of this threat, its evolution through remote work, and how organizations can update hiring policies to prevent infiltration.
